AgencyHouston Suburb Charges Extra to Serve Accidents
A suburban Houston council has decided to charge insurers extra when firefighters and police officers are summoned to accident scenes.
The Houston Chronicle reports Missouri City’s governing council has voted to recover from insurers the expenses the city incurs when emergency responders are sent to accident scenes. Theese charges can range from $500-$2000 depending on the serverity of the accident and if a claim is filed on your insurance. If a claim is not filed, it is reported that the tax will not be charged.
I thought that thats why we pay taxes to fund such things as police and fire departments. Its another way to take citizens hard earned dollars to fund the cities WHAT’S and Not their needs.
